Krakow, the city of Kings

Krakow! One of the most important cities in Poland, as almost all the rest of the nation suffers from a complex history, where kings, kingdoms and cultures joined over time to this city. I heard recently commented that if it says "The capital moved to Warsaw, but the royalty was in Krakow." In fact, Krakow is culturally and historically much richer. It is no accident that his center is historic Heritage by UNESCO. In fact, go through all those streets full of historic buildings, picturesque churches and bars was what I liked most of Krakow. Do not know if it was the Rynek (Main Square) to be under renovation, but was a little disillusionment. At least, I thought the Rynek Wroclaw was very beautiful and more welcoming than in Krakow. However, the market in the center and the church also in the Rynek, give all private air to square one. In order to realize why I like the Rynek Wroclaw, there is also the quality of buildings around the square, except one (a bank) are all conserved and all have a special decoration. While in Rynek Krakow (perhaps by setting the square itself is different), I could not feel it.
Still, Krakow is the city required. The Barbican (small surviving part of the old wall), the extraordinary castle - Wawel - I have not had the pleasure to visit inside, where you could see the magnificent Wisła river, which separates the west side where is the Jewish quarter .

do not know if I will return to this city or not. I feel that there may still be plenty to explore. We caught a lot of rain in one day, in addition to being holiday: it was the Feast of All Saints. That turned out to be an advantage, as he decided to go to the cemetery and what we saw was extraordinary, as I will explain in next post ... For now, the photos are ...

The Rynek and Kościół Mariacki (Basilica of St. Maria) - every hour is playing a trumpet (called hejnał) of the highest tower of the church, to remember that a trumpeter was shot while the alarm sounded before a Mongol attack on the city.

The people in the hour of rest.
