Babies And Butterflies Sayings

visits ...

Zemi My dear friend made a point to visit me for a few days here in Wroclaw, the second to visit me here ... First were the Martins and Nuno Sá (also my colleagues from FEUP) who took his vacation week at the University where they are Denmark to make an authentic "Car Europe Tour." The Zemi, this came from Slovenia, through a journey of 16 hours by train. My longest ride was 8 hours, so imagine what it is: it dose!
course for us, Erasmus, it is easier visitarmo us to each other because, first, we are closer and have a second life easier to travel (say). However, I want you to know, all those who are in Portugal, that Wrocław is always open doors for you.
After two days here at Breslau, tomorrow we head to Kraków (Cracow), one must Poland. Before we even know what could come to Wrocław (city unknown) knew only the capital, Warsaw, Krakow - the city tourism, Gdansk and perhaps because of the Second World War.
One of the nights, there was also celebration here in the room: the Spaniard Alvaro in years. Of course with so many Spaniards were again bled ... and a (a) striper! ... Well, you should see the photos. By the way, take the opportunity to show a little more of Wroclaw, a city that got a little neglegenciado. However, I am perparar a compilation of the city that may only post at the end of Erasmus.

[Szczegóły Polakow] The tram stops

Szczegóły Polakow - Details Poles

does not happen at all, just a few. But there is only one already quite strange.
The tram (which could be translated into Portuguese by tram) system is widely used in these parts of Europe, especially here in Poland, where all the big cities where I have gone this transport system. Wroclaw is no exception, and even quite like the railways, with its Soviet air (at least with older vehicles), which have less free will when crowded, when the bumps and curves, disarray in the rails or excessive speed Conductor throws all those who are inside each other.

Actually this post would not talk to the tram itself, but the stops. I did not see any more city I've been so far. In Wroclaw there is at least a couple of tram stops as well, where the tram, circulating in the middle of the roadway, must stop in front of the stop, but where there is no landing platform, ie, between the tram stop and / ride there is a road car. In the area of \u200b\u200bthe stop, there is a marking on the ground indicating that cars should not stop there. When the tram stops for people to escape, then stop the car so that people can cross the road to the comfortable security the ride.

This is where the trouble comes: the comfortable security! Nothing seems more uncertain than this system! What keeps me going out and suddenly distracted from one of these tram stops and catch up with a driver, it also distracted and maybe too fast? Yes, knowing now how are some (some?) Polish drivers, even afraid of these stops!
Well, fear not say. But at least look carefully before you leave, will not be caught by a runaway truck.
What's amazing is that drivers seem to respect the rule and actually stop when a tram approaches. I do not think this would result in Portugal as well!
I wonder whether this is more detail a legacy of the communist era, energy savings and cost, to avoid having to build a landing platform in the middle of the street, or another obscure reason unknown to me. Get out there know ...

How Do You Make A Monk's Cord Bracelet

Fall Meeting of the dormitory Zlot

to deserved prominence in the headlines: the zloty is dropping ...

Can I Use Clipper Oil As Gun Oil

We were all summoned. All Erasmus who live in T-17 were summoned to a meeting today, through written warnings on paper and spread through the halls and kitchens, with an English, err .... how shall I say .. "Impacábel!"
The reason for the invitation only really discovered in the meeting itself, although it already distrusted for several reasons. One of which was common to all: we would take the head. The administrator
dorm from the beginning was soon action. How do you say? .. Ah, "to kill"! Perhaps that initial aggression, many of which were present countered with its dose of aggression and began a losing battle. The dorm has rules and many failures, but in fact, if we're here, we have to accomplish, and how to demand better conditions there is little to do (yes, I'ma confromado, I'm no Lech Walesa).

The first theme was the noise and parties. Can not be tolerated noise in sleep. Someone even argued that certain Polish (my neighbors, for example) often have music on the hour yelling quite strange: in the morning at 10 am for example, and nobody had complained. It is perfectly true! But rules are rules. And there bothered by loud music early in the morning to many people (like me - still on top with a sound so clear that escapes by the hole through which the cables of the Internet), nobody will change that. Another
someone complained of a Pole to have threatened to beat if not turned off the music. Another may well be true, but that does not invalidate the fact that there noise to bother people at late hours, in spite of his behavior. Here, as in several points of discussion, the manager was always one step ahead: he could always defend themselves by nobody and complained about these problems and situations presented before.
Another issue was the time of the meal. A habit and time very important for most people Erasmus: English and Portuguese. Under the rules, not allowed to eat in the kitchen or in corridors, and is also not permitted to move furniture in some rooms for others. This is perhaps the point at which the rate may be more on our side. With this rule, each one is supposed to eat in their rooms, which is quite uncomfortable. In addition, the absence of a space where people can sit and eat it that often cooked together is problematic. Causes that people would have to separate and eat it alone "in their rooms, which for our crops is quite ludicrous. This problem has already attached to the fact that there is no common room in the dormitory. Is that even bars around this complex there.
On these issues the manager said it would give the room where we were at that moment (which should be a lounge, but for all I know is usually closed), to make parties, two or even three times a week.
All this leads me to write something that should have said, especially when the manager said he had exactly the same problems existed Erasmus of the other previous: why the hell not had a meeting as soon as we get this? If you have had experience of other years, why not explain the rules and make the warnings at the outset? Explain why only after the problems emerged, when they knew they were going to happen? For me, the administration would have almost any reason (or at least the victory of discussion - not get around: the rules continued to exist, as the parties), the only flaw was the same: a bad reception of students / guests from such diverse countries with different cultures the adequate.

Hursthouse Abortion Simplified

"Tango" by Zbigniew Rybczynski

Link: TANGO. (von ZBIGNIEW RYBCZYNSKI)

Some time ago, during the course of EILC showed us various animations of Polish authors. By chance I was quite pleased with this session because I was always interested in movies / short films, though he had never explored this subject in depth. I remember, however, to see the one time or another about a program in RTP2 animation that got hit would put me to always see.
Ahead ... The animations that show were very interesting. Several short, from various eras and techniques ...
I leave here that I liked more. Indeed, that What surprised me most, leaving me quite a fan. It was no accident that this animation won the Oscar for Best Short Animation (1983) and five other awards.
